Innovative lived support and peer expertise, 26th August 2021, 1 – 2pm:
Peer support teams from Odyssey Auckland are using innovative approaches in environments that can be challenging for people, including Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment Courts, Department of Corrections and youth and adult residential Therapeutic Community settings. Hear the difference that lived expertise and peer support makes; why discharges have reduced and why residency and occupancy rates dramatically improved within 12 months of the programme start.
Dave Burnside, Learning and Development lead; Thomas White, Consumer Advisor; and Peer Support worker Darrell Wilson join the Whāriki team for kōrero and questions on the couch.
