Benchmarking Breakout: Substance intoxication and withdrawal management in inpatient mental health settings

October 10 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Join the Te Pou addiction and least restrictive practice teams to discuss the impact of co-existing substance use in the inpatient setting. This session aims to inform the development of a new learning resource about responding to co-existing substance use for inpatient mental health staff.

Anecdotally, the sector identifies co-existing substance use as an increasing factor in the use of seclusion and other restrictive practices. Let us know what tools, resources, and strategies you are currently using and where the current gaps in learning are.

Please feel free to bring questions and share challenges you may be experiencing on this topic in your service.

Please note: This Benchmarking Breakout will be recorded as part of a research project led by the addiction and least restrictive practice teams at Te Pou. As a participant, we will keep you informed about this project, and you will be sent a copy of the findings. The information may also be used in other publications, in which you will remain anonymous.
