Streamlining recruitment – Taking a different approach to recruiting in Community Mental Health and Addiction services

February 15 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

To address the growing challenge of recruiting and retaining staff in mental health and addiction services Te Whatu Ora Waikato embarked on a project to create a more person-centered experience for people applying to work in Community Mental Health Services.

Join Julie Taylor, Nurse Educator, and Clindella Stirling, Operations Manager, Community and Specialty Mental Health and Addiction Services to explore the actions taken to address vacancy rates at Waikato.

Learn how the creation of a clinical central lead for recruitment not only freed time for Charge Nurse Managers and Team Leaders to focus on leadership, but also added an holistic vantage point across vacancy factors in all teams. This allowed for candidates to be matched for fit across different roles and teams, sped up the time to hire and provided a better experience for applicants.
